A permit is required to launch your own kayak from the Louis J Valentino Park. You only need a permit if you bring your own canoe or kayak. No permit is required to use one of ours.

Proposed Interim Boathouse Design
The Red Hook Boaters, and
PortSide NewYork proposed an interim boathouse for Valentino Park to the NYC Parks Department in the Spring of 2008. The Boathouse would house programs by PortSide, The Red Hook Boaters, and the Urban Divers. The concept for the Boathouse, and the Power Point presentation came from PortSide NewYork. Designer Todd Seidman did the architectural drawings.
